What is this... an ultrasound for babies?

Life isn't with out it's complications... Kylie developed prolonged jaundice which led to a series of baby blood tests (ouch). These tests revealed that her hemoglobin was on the lower side which put her in danger of being anemic. The doctor recommended vitamin supplements and further testing since babies tend to cycle high and low hemoglobin counts with age. During one of these blood tests we also discovered her alkaline phosphatase was high. Alk Phos is an enzyme that is found in many of the body's tissues, with the highest concentration being in the bone, liver and bile ducts. They use this test to evaluate many liver and bone conditions when done in conjunction with other tests. Luckily Ky's subsequent tests were all normal so they decided to take a peek into the structure of her organs and hence these pics....

The ultrasound was done at the women's center where they usually ultrasound pregnant ladies such as myself. Before we got started with Kylie the technician made a joke: Let's see if there's a baby in your baby!.... I get the innocent humor behind the joke... but that's creepy lady!
