Monday Morning: Covered in faint red dotty rash but no fever so went to school. School later called said E fell and bumped his head. Called nurse and doctor that day.
Wednesday Afternoon: Received email that preschool was exposed to Roseola which is a fever followed by rash by a kid who was home on Monday with a fever. Hmmm... but we had a fever Friday. Preschool teacher pulls me aside in the afternoon and tells me that E probably had it first. Now feeling a bit awkward knowing that we have potentially infected the entire infant community at preschool.
Wednesday Night: E started wiping at his mouth and continuously screaming and crying. Called nurse, he heard his screaming on phone and recommended that we take him to after hours clinic. Right when he got into the waiting room he was suddenly happy as a clam having a grand old time. Now mother looks like insane parent. Diagnosis is inflamed tastebuds. It does not bother him anymore after going to the clinic.
Thanksgiving Morning: Woke up with swollen eye.
Friday Morning: Even more swollen. Call doctor to make appointment. Doctor recommends benadryll to reduce swelling. No signs of infection.
Saturday Morning: Swelling is going down but now replaced with bruise in inner corner of eye. Looks like he has a shiner.
Monday Afternoon: Take son with bruised eye to doctor yet again to make sure everything is ok. Bruise looks like it is healing.
Tuesday Morning: E wakes up with a drop of blood on his lip. Mother makes mental note to run humidifier at night. Starts to suspect that her baby might be in Fight Club.
Wednesday Early Morning: Awakened by E's loud crying at 4:30am. Of course this is happening when we have an appointment in 3 hours to get up for.
Thursday Night: Typing this letter on my computer. Ethan is listening to opera and eating broccolli. A few bad days makes happiness that much sweeter.
